Founder & Instructor

Movement has always been my language. As a former South African rhythmic gymnast and ballet dancer, I’ve spent my life expressing myself through motion. After retiring from competitive gymnastics and dance, I still craved the performance aspect—so I took to the air as an aerial acrobat. But when that chapter closed, I found myself struggling to find enthusiasm in gym workouts—until I discovered barre in 2016. It was love at first plié, and I never looked back.

I became a certified barre instructor in 2017, later qualifying as a personal trainer and I recently completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training after 17+ years of personal practice. My classes blend the precision of ballet, the strength of functional training, and the artistry of dance, always guided by the music. My philosophy? Movement should make you feel strong and connected. The benefits go far beyond the physical—it’s about confidence, presence, and feeling at home in your body.

When I’m not in the studio, you’ll find me soaking up time with my beautiful daughter, connecting with friends, or recharging in nature.

Ballet has been a part of my life since I was five years old, shaping my journey from a young dancer to a professional ballerina. Over nearly two decades, I performed principal roles in productions like Cinderella, Swan Lake, and The Golden Rhino with Mzansi Ballet. I’m certified in the Cuban ballet methodology (levels 1 to 3) and have choreographed and taught at Mzansi Ballet School and Debbi Rakusin’s High-Performance Dance Education (HPDE) program. My career has also taken me into the corporate dance world, where I’ve had the privilege of sharing the stage with artists like Seal, John Legend, and the Black Eyed Peas.

Beyond dance, I hold a BSc Honours degree in Psychology and am a certified Athlete Performance Coach. My deep understanding of both the body and mind influences the way I approach movement, making my classes both physically rewarding and mentally engaging.

I bring high energy to every class, encouraging students to enjoy the process and embrace movement with intention. I love keeping things fun, fresh, and focused on the mind-muscle connection—our bodies accomplish incredible things every day, and I believe in honoring that through movement.

For me, teaching is as much about learning as it is about sharing knowledge. My background in psychology makes me deeply curious about people, and every class gives me the opportunity to connect, observe, and grow alongside my students.

When I’m not in the studio, you’ll probably find me out on the roads running, creating content, binging a new series, or cooking up a delicious new recipe.

Irene Bolus
Barre instructor

I have been involved in the practise of barre for 9 years with consistent weekly dedication.

My teaching style is centered around slow-paced, deliberate movements that allow students to focus on deep muscle strengthening and refining technique. I hope to provide an interactive platform where each student feels supported and confident in their practice.

I see barre as a safe space for feminine expression that allows you to feel beautiful both on the inside and outside.

Qualification: Be Yoga 200 Hour Vinyasa Teacher Training

I love creating flows that challenge the body while calming the mind. My approach emphasizes this union of physical strength and deep relaxation. My teaching style is centered on using my voice to provide detailed, clear and precise instructions, ensuring my students feel confident in their understanding as they move through each pose. Personally, I use yoga as a tool to manage stress and reduce risk of injury but, over and above that, I just love how yoga makes me feel – physically, mentally and emotionally – and I am passionate about creating a space where my students can experience this too.

Nolwazi Zondi
Yoga Teacher

I am a qualified Vinyasa Yoga teacher with a 200hr training certificate (Yoga Alliance accredited). I have been doing yoga for about 6 years and have never looked back. As an athlete and lover of all things fitness, Yoga started off as just another workout to get me stronger but little did I know of the beautiful transformation that would happen.

Grit, Grind and Gratitude is the motto for my classes, where we will empower the mind, body and soul with grace. Grace is one the most poignant lessons that Yoga has taught me.

Allowing myself to be kind and compassionate towards myself as I reach to be my highest self. Yoga has been a gateway to my inner peace and God. Sharing this beautiful practice is me fulfilling my purpose and serving God and people. Yoga - a gift from me to you.

Talia Kodesh
Dance teacher

I come from a long line of musicians, dancers and artists, so performance simply runs in my veins. Starting off with qualifications in RAD Ballet and the DanceCor Modern Dance Association, I finally graduated with a Diploma in Musical Theatre from the renowned Tshwane University of Pretoria. I have since been a professional dancer, singer, actress and choreographer for 25 years. I have studied body conditioning and dance teaching under the guidance of Pat Gush, my own teacher and mentor of 30 years.

During my class I like to create the balance between technical dance steps focussing on the health of a dancers biomechanics, and at the same time allowing expression of each individual’s movement patterns. My teaching is very performance based interpreting music to guide movement, while always reminding dancers of the technique needed to execute dance steps.

My class consists of a warmup, some technique exercises, and a lyrical contemporary routine. I have been known to throw in some jazz and modern!

I quote Pat Gush who always says: “Don’t dance to the music, Dance because of the music”

When I’m not in the studio you’ll find me on the side of either the sports field or the gymnastics studio watching my children grow.

Zinnia Tongue
Ballet Teacher

I was born in the UK and trained under Joel Morris, a former artist with Joburg Ballet and Mzansi Ballet. I went on to complete my degree in Ballet Performance at the School of Ballet Theatre UK, and since graduating, I’ve been dancing professionally with Mzansi Ballet in Johannesburg.

Throughout my journey, I’ve competed in international ballet competitions and performed with the English Youth Ballet, where I was honored to receive the Most Promising Senior Dancer award. I’ve trained in a range of styles—including RAD, French, ABT, Cecchetti, and Cuban—which gives me a broad and nuanced approach to ballet.

In my classes, I love drawing from all these techniques to create a space that’s both challenging and supportive. Whether you’re returning to the barre or discovering ballet for the first time, my goal is to help you connect with the elegance, discipline, and expressive power of this beautiful art form.

Atira Evian
kids Yoga Teacher

Children and teen yoga and mindfulness teacher with a deep love for helping young people connect with themselves through movement, imagination, and stillness. I've been working with children since 2014, starting as a Montessori teacher, where I learned the value of meeting each child exactly where they are.

Since completing my Children’s Yoga Teacher Training in 2017 I’ve taught a wide range of classes—from extra murals and one-on-one sessions to group classes and music-and-movement programs in nursery schools across Johannesburg.

In every class, I aim to create a space where kids feel seen, safe, and free to express themselves. I take them on imaginative journeys that spark creativity, support emotional regulation, and build confidence. My approach weaves in age-appropriate breathing, movement, and meditation practices, with a strong focus on helping children regulate their nervous systems and develop tools for resilience and calm.

When I’m not teaching, I’m often playing with my two-year-old, baking sourdough bread (my latest passion), or enjoying my own movement practice. I truly love being part of children's playful worlds and supporting their growth through yoga and mindfulness.

TEGAN SAMMONS
YOGA TEACHER

I completed my first yoga training in 2011 and have been teaching and studying since. In 2012 - 2013 I studied with Jim Harrington in Cape Town and completed his 200 & 300 hour trainings. In 2015 I traveled to New York to complete my Jivamukti yoga training, which was the most transformative training for me yet and influences my teaching immensely. In 2020 I completed and advanced 300 hour yoga training with Wellness Connection.

All of my many teachers have influenced me as person as well as me as a teacher.  I want my classes to feel like a safe space for you to explore the yoga practice with a sense of playfulness and ease.

My classes are always open to all levels but you will be challenged and you will always have the opportunity to take rest or listen to your body.

You will always hear loud music in my class to get us moving and long relaxation to ground us completely.

I love sharing this practice because as much as it is a moving meditation for you, it is a meditation for me. A time where I get to be fully present and not distracted by the day to day. Teaching gives me as much peace as practicing.

I’m a new mom so right now I am navigating this new world of being a mom and doing what I love alongside.
